Vitamin B9 is very sensitive to light...air...heat. It loses its value, sometimes like crazy. Depends on the food. And, what you do with it.

Here's a bizarre comparison...

Broccoli, when blanched so you can freeze it, loses a great deal of folate. Not Brussels sprouts. Even if they're from the same cabbage family.

So, to get the B9 you need...

Eat fresh, as often as you can. With lots of variety. Keep storage to a minimum. And, careful not to overcook.

A B9 supplement can be taken on its own. But, high dosage can mask symptoms of  B12 deficiency. A road you don't want to take.
